You are invited to attend a retreat for pastors on March 6-7, 207 at Western Theological Seminary.
You will be encouraged and supported while exploring ideas to help strengthen your preaching.
Jeff Porte will be leading this day and a half preaching retreat. Jeff is Lead Pastor at Centerpoint Church (RCA) in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he has served for thirty-one years. Centerpoint is a church that multiplies churches and is honored to have eight congregations and two Christian schools in their family of churches. A second site is planned to open in late 2017. Through Centerpoint’s Leadership Training Center, Jeff focuses on training tomorrow’s leaders in effective communication as they seek commissioned pastor credentialing to serve within and beyond Centerpoint’s family of churches. Jeff has contributed to several commentaries in the Teaching the Text Series to be released by Baker Books. MASTERMIND: “Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life” is Jeff’s current book in progress. Jeff and his wife, Terri, have four children, and three grand kids. They live in Mattawan, Michigan.
“The best preachers hit the ball hard and long week after week,’ according to Porte. This workshop will give today’s preachers a deep, yet practical exploration of the critical role passion plays in propelling messages beyond the head – to the heart, where “sermon memory” is imprinted on a congregation.
The retreat begins at 9 am on Monday, March 6 and concludes on Tuesday, March 7, at noon.
This is a special invitation. Your registration fee and meals are covered.
All you need to do is register, get yourself here, and promise that you will attend each session.
